Please type in your reflections on the CNY Hamper Project in the comments below. You have to answer the questions:
1. What are we doing? What have we done?
2. How do we think we are affecting the children? What will be different from them?
3. What could be our next step to care for children?

Feel free to add in more reflections! But no irrelevant stuff!

  2. We have donated food and stationary to the children in the children homes. By doing this, we are showing them that there are people out there who care about them and are willing to give. They should feel loved and appreciated. We can continue to care for them by actually meeting them face to face.

  3. We have done a hamper in lieu of CNY to give to a children's home. The children in the home would be less bored and this would be like a CNY present for them. They can spend their time having fun eating and using the hamper that we have made from them. I think that we should visit the children and give them the hamper face to face. We can also spend time with them so that they would not feel lonely and that somebody really cares for them.

  4. We have donated both food and usable items for the needy children. We have given them a chance to enjoy foods which they might have never tried before, and given them necessities for school work. With this little donation, we have helped and made many children happy. They would be able to lead a better and easier life. This also allows me to realize how fortunate we are. Although we have a much better life, we must care for the less privilege. In the future, we can organize a class outing to one of these homes to experience what they do everyday and how we can help them more.

  5. 1. What are we doing? What have we done?
Ans: We have donated food and goodies to the children in the children's homes, we are contributing to society by doing our little parts to help out these children.

    2. How do we think we are affecting the children? What will be different from them?
Ans: We are making them happy(hopefully) when they get these goodies and hopefully they will like it and make good use of it.

    3. What could be our next step to care for children?
Ans: We could go and visit these children and play with them, and mingle with them. By doing this, we would hopefully get information of what do they want and more importantly what do they need. Then we can see what we can do to fulfill these wants and especially needs. At the same time we could also play some games and sports with them.

  6. 1. What are we doing? What have we done?
We have donated food and other stuff to the needy families and children to make them worry lesser during Chinese New Year and enjoy the holiday. We have wrapped the food up into a hamper and decorated it for the needy families and children, I believe that we have done a great job trying to make the hamper more attractive. It is a pity we did not win.

    2. How do we think we are affecting the children? What will be different from them?
We help them by making their lives more comfortable and make them worry less about the future and enjoy themselves during the Chinese New Year. They get more food to eat and make them be able to be more happy.

    3. What could be our next step to care for children?
We could produce a charity fund to fund for the children or we could work for them for free. By doing this, we will be more appreciated. Plus, we get CIP points. :P

  7. We are donating things like food, toys and other things that children like to the needy children of a charitable organization that deals with under-privilidege children. Thus, we have made these children happier as they have goodies to eat during the Chinese new year.
We are affecting the children by making them feel that other people still care for them and that they do not think as ignored as they feel they feel they are. I do no think that much changed for them in the long term for them as I think that we did not do anything that greatly impacted them.
We could visit them to make them feel even more special, by playing games with them or bringing them out to have fun.

  8. 1. What are we doing? What have we done?

We have done a CNY Hamper to help needy children so that they can enjoy their Chinese New Year with good food and toys even though they are a little less fortunate than us. We are doing this to help children of around the same ages as us to experience a happier life, and by doing little things like this hamper makes a difference to their lives.

    2. How do we think we are affecting the children? What will be different from them?

We are making them happier as they have toys and food that they will enjoy during CNY and other times. Maybe, we also can make them feel more welcome and feel that there are people caring for them.

    3. What could be our next step to care for children?

We could go and visit these children to play with them, chat, etc. Maybe we also can have meals with them. We can also organize a donation drive where people can donate anything they want (clothes, money, toys, etc) then wrap it up nicely and give it to them even though it is not an important event.

  9. We created CNY hampers for the children in the children's home. We shared the joy of CNY with them and helped the children's home by providing them with food and stationaries. We put our best effort into making the hamper and bringing the items.
We make them feel more appreciated and also give them hope. We let them enjoy CNY by giving them a helping hand.
We could have a fund raised to donate to the children's home and we can go there for voluntary work, like playing with them or cleaning the place.

  10. 1. What are we doing? What have we done?
We have tried to spread the joy of Chinese New Year with the needy. We made a hamper full of gifts which will definitely bring smiles on their faces when they receive it.
    2. How do we think we are affecting the children? What will be different from them?
I believe that they will realize that there are many people in the world who care for people like them. They will know that they have not been left behind.
    3. What could be our next step to care for children?
We can have projects where we get people from the community to help us in making a difference for these children too.

  11. 1. What are we doing? What have we done?
We have donated food and other items through the hamper and as a class shared the joys of CNY by letting them have something to look forward to.
    2. How do we think we are affecting the children? What will be different from them?
I think that by doing we will make the children feel more secure as if there are people in this world who cares for them. The difference will be that these children have something to look forward to for the CNY so that they can open up the hamper and see whats inside.
    3. What could be our next step to care for children?
Our next could be a trip to visit them so that we will be able to interact with them or perhaps have some sort of fund raiser that the whole class can participate in to donate the final sum to their organisation.

  12. 1. What are we doing? What have we done?

We have done a CNY Hamper to help children who are in need so that they will be able to enjoy their Chinese New Year with good food and toys. We are doing this to help children from ages 3-16 to experience a happier life, and by giving some things like this hamper, it makes a difference to their lives.

    2. How do we think we are affecting the children? What will be different from them?

We are making them happier as they have toys and food that they will enjoy like any other kids. We also might be making them feel more welcome and that they know that there are people caring for them.

    3. What could be our next step to care for children?

We could go and visit these children, maybe even eat with them. We can also organize a donation drive where people will donate stuffs that they want and we help to wrap them nicely into hampers to present it to them again.

  13. 1. What are we doing? What have we done?
We donated food to make a hamper for children in a children's home. By doing this, we were able to help the less fortunate. We were able to make them happy as they would have new toys to play with and yummy snacks to eat.

    2. How do we think we are affecting the children? What will be different from them?
We probably made them happy as they were able to have treats and new toys and stationary for CNY. They would also have been happy to know that there are people who care for them.

    3. What could be our next step to care for children?
We could visit the children's home and interact with them. And we should not make it a one time thing but instead continue going to the children's home at least once every month. During such visits, we could also bring gifts for them. And if the staff at the center allow us, we could also invite the children who are slightly older, around our age, out to the beach or to the park for games or a picnic.

  14. 1) What are we doing? What have we done?
We have donated necessities to young children in the children's home and have brought upon smiles in lieu of their CNY. They received what we wanted to share with them, which makes this event even more meaningful.

    2) How do we think we are affecting the children? What will be different from them?
I think that by doing this, we've made their lives less lonely by assuring them they are not alone. It also applies to their physical needs such as food, daily necessities etc.

    3) What could be our next step to care for children?
The next step is certainly to visit them and speaking to them, at the same time try to understand the difficulties they are facing and how they are different from us. This is because only by understanding, we can further extend our helping hand to them.

  15. 1. We have done a hamper which was given to help children below the age of 16. We are sharing what we have to the needy children, giving them something that can help them.

    2. We are giving them a hand in living, which will make them much happier that they know there are caring people in the world out there, who would want to make a difference to improve their lives and help them.

    3. To make contact with them. (But it has to be constant) To be a caring friend to them, to let them enjoy the enjoyable things of the world out there, understand their trouble. The reason it has to be constant (I have to agree it is going to be hard) is because they will fall back into the thinking that no one cares, no one understands.

  16. 1. We have all contributed rations and gifts, to make a hamper for children whom are not as lucky or as well off as we are. We are also extending a helping hand to those who are more needy than us, and probably needs help from the community.

    2. We are giving the children hope, by giving them the food and toys. They will hopefully continue striving on in life, understanding that there are caring people whom are willing to extend a helping hand, and also to improve their lives.

    3. Our next step to care for the children would be to make contact with the children, to make them feel that we really and sincerely care for them. Our next step could also be to give them more gifts and necessities that they might need, for example, clothes.

  17. Our class made a hamper with the rations and gifts we contribute for the less fortunate children for CNY.
I think we are helping them enjoy themselves as the gift would be small "red packets" of our kindness. The goodies and toys we contributed would probably make them feel happy.
We could probably have a small excursion to the homes and give them a visit.

  18. We are donating food and toys to the poor children. We have given a large hamper of goodies on behalf of Chinese New Year to them.

We are affecting the children by giving them hope of their future. They will start to feel that there is more meaning in their daily lives.

Our next step could be to begin educating them in academics and non-acdemics by ourselves.

  19. 1. What are we doing? What have we done?
We have contributed items (that we think the children receiving them might like) for the CNY hamper to help the needy children.

    2. How do we think we are affecting the children? What will be different from them?
They goodies will make the children feel happier during this festive season. The children would know that there are people out there knowing about their situation and are trying to offer some help. Thus knowing this, they would not feel so unwanted

    3. What could be our next step to care for children?
We could visit and interact with them ourselves instead of just donating and giving stuff to them. Making friends with them and knowing what problems they face and what they are going through will help us to understand better about them and we would also hopefully learn something from them.
